Our family farm began as a small operation, growing from a 4-H wether, named Walter, to a breeding stock operation in 2014. We now raise myotonic goats for our herd and yours!
Myotonic goats are also referred to as fainting goats. Fainting goats behave similarly to other goats, but they "faint" because of a genetic condition called myotonia congenita. When startled, their muscles stiffen and do not relax quickly, making them fall onto their sides. This can give the impression that they have fainted. However, it does not hurt the goats. After a few seconds, their muscles relax, and they can get back up.
